Howard Munson: "This unique San Miguel de Allende festival bean some 60 years ago with a small group of dancers who celebrated a good harvest. Now the participants are in the thousands along with spectators that line the streets holding umbrellas upside down to catch candy tossed to hem from the masked Locos.

"The Locos depart from the parish San Anthony after having had attended a mass. The procession is made up of cudros, groups of families and friends, led by many decorated trucks carrying huge speakers playing music at very high volume as the Locos prance about with cartoon faces, faces of death, devils and film characters. "The festival is both religious and celebratory thanks to Saint Anthony and Saint Paschal."
