From Fiber to Paper
By Dianne Reeves
1991. Edition of 200.
Designed and printed by W. Thomas Taylor in Austin, Texas. The typeface is Monotype Bembo, printed on Nideggan mould-made paper, with title-page calligraphy by Jeff Jeffries. The stab-sewn binding, made from Ogura natural Japanese handmade paper, was executed by BookLab in Austin.
Reeves, a papermaker, has created "this visual aid for papermakers interested in creating paper from natural fibers. Each paper-making process is detailed with a tip-in on the opposite page of the resulting paper. The text has been kept to a minimum with emphasis placed on the recipes and corresponding pieces of handmade paper. Even though this book is aimed at more advanced papermakers, (she has) included a list of excellent and instructive how-to books for those needing or desiring additional papermaking information. However, this book should serve as a guide for all persons interested in the process of creating handmade paper from natural fibers..."
