The artist received her BFA in Photography at Texas Woman's University in 1984 and a MA in Studio Arts at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1987.

19 x 13"; 18 pages. Text and poems composed in Lucida Calligraphy font. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Duo 316 paper using polymer plate with a Vandercook letterpress printer. Bound in handmade Nepalese paper. Signed and numbered by the artist.

Ten photographs from the artist's "Ruins" portfolio. Each image began as a 4 x 5" negative then was scanned and printed. The images are from areas in Texas, Louisiana and Nevada during 1987 – 1993. This body of work shows abandoned buildings covered in graffiti and showing the decay of brick and mortar. Black-and-white reflections of a glorious past now crumbling – used and abused. These abandoned sites do not have famous names but evidence how quickly things change and nature takes over. Yet there is a beauty in the stillness and time's passage.

Galveston County The Daily News, Woman finds art among the 'Ruins' Mar 16, 2006: "Cynthia Leigh-Nussenblatt is the first to concede she's probably not cut out to be a photojournalist. While those photographers are all about spontaneity and capturing moments in time as they occur the Galveston artist likes to ponder ideas. Then she thinks about them some more. 'I'm certainly not what you would call a shooter' said Nussenblatt … 'I work more from a concept or idea. I go places and see things, work it all out and …"
