Illustrated with black-and-white silhouettes by Feldman.The type set was set on an Apple computer using Quark XPress Software in Optima and Funhouse fonts. The book was printed by a LaserJet Printer on 32 lb. reflective paper. Book designed by Joan O'Connor. Slipcase constructed by James Di Marcantonio of Hope Bindery and Co.
Six fables written by Guy Wetmore Caryl (1873 - 1904) in 1900. The verses were published in a bound volume, along with other Caryl poems, by Harper & Brothers (New York and London) in 1900.
The fables in this volume: "The Mysterious Misapprehension Concerning a Man in Our Town," "The Unusual Ubiquity or the Inquisitive Gander," "The Opportune Overthrow of Humpty Dumpty," "The Harmonious Heedlessness of Little Blue," "The Gastronomic Guile of Simple Simon," and "The Inexcusable Probity of Tom the Piper's Son."

A Book Person's Dream

Twenty-seven copper etchings (each almost 2 x 2", one for each letter plus a frontispiece) plus text by Feldman. Etchings printed by Kathy Caraccio at K. Caraccio Printing Studio. Caraccio colored the etchings by pochoir assisted by Tai-Kyu Kim, Michael Li, Sana Fadel, and Franklin Feldman. The type, in fonts of Granjon and Goudy Bold Italic, set in linotype by Kent LeFebvre of Signs Plus, and printed by Darrell Hyder at Sun Hill Press. Paper: Rives Heavyweight Buff. Binding and slipcase were constructed by James Di Marcantonio at Hope Bindery and Box Co.
An alphabet for a bibliophile. Color etchings accompany each letter with prose poetry by Franklin Feldman. Starting with A for Apprentice Feldman takes an alphabetic journey through occupations associated with bookmaking. I is for Illuminator: "He loves to decorate by hand whether it involves gold, silver, or colored paint...." T for Typographer: "A very knowledgeable person a typographer knows about punch cutting, type foundry, printing processes, designing…." Finally Z for Zincographer: "One who knows the technology and can translate an image to copper or zinc…."
