Dark Spring Press: "This book is the pamphlet accompaniment to the photographic series Sleepwalking the City of Roses by photographer Courtney Asztalos. It focuses on a small Southern Georgia town, Thomasville, where the photographer lives; tracing the haunted South and photographically documenting chance encounters with the town's residents. This book takes her photographs and merges them with artifacts and ephemera from the town and sets them inside different viewing portals. Included with a small magnifying lens to fall into the blurred world of the past-saturated presence of the City of Roses, this book is a photographic viewing relic as each page presents her photographs through stereoview, viewfinder, and finally through Hauntology goggles."
